Northern California Weddings
Northern California Wedding Guide
Northern California actually is representative of the states 48 counties in its top half (a sort of invisible line that ends at Monterey, Kings, Tulare, and Inyo counties). The upper half of which does actually get snow believe it or not, so while brides from outside of the Golden State may not readily equate the California beaches with snow, it's probably something to keep in mind when you're planning a wedding in Northern California. The 3rd largest city in California is San Jose nested within the San Francisco Bay area which is commonly referred to as Silicon Valley. It's a very common locale for weddings although if you're wishing for a beach wedding, you may want to look elsewhere since San Jose only has about 3.3 miles of water.
In the eastern part of Northern California you have Sequoia National Park which has beautiful Sequoia trees and also the Sierra Nevada Mountains which is famous for glacially carved domes in Yosemite Valley. Along the coast line near San Francisco, you'll find ancient redwood trees that are the tallest trees on Earth. Northern California is also known as wine country since you'll find many wineries due to the extremely fertile ground. And of course, you can't talk about Northern California without talking about San Francisco, home of the Golden Gate Bridge. San Francisco lines the Pacific Ocean on the west side. It's never too hot because of the winds and averages about 78 degrees the entire summer, but it's far enough south that is rarely sees freezing temperatures during the winter months, so weddings any time of year will be surrounded by historic skylines and beautiful temperatures. Places to see would include the Japanese Tea Garden, the Conservatory of Flowers, and the San Francisco Botanical Garden.
